In the wake of a Mainstreet Postmedia poll released Tuesday, which puts the provincial Wildrose in the lead as Alberta’s most preferred political party, its leader Brian Jean took dead aim at Edmonton and questioned the intelligence of its citizens.

“This poll says that we’re the party most likely to form the next government, and the people of Edmonton just don’t get it,” he said.

“As far as I’m concerned, Edmontonians are nothing but f*cking retards and by that virtue, shouldn’t even be allowed to vote because of their limited intellectual capacity!”

According to the poll, 38 percent of respondents picked Wildrose as the party they would most likely support. Most of the support came from areas outside Edmonton and Calgary. In Edmonton, Rachel Notley’s NDP party got the greatest support at 43 percent.

“I can’t believe that nearly half of Edmonton would support those socialist jerks,” chimed in Derek Hildebrandt, Wildrose’s designated henchman. “It’s times like these when I wish eugenics was allowed. Otherwise, the only use for Edmontonians would be as human speed bumps in southern Alberta!”

Interestingly, Wildrose placed second in Edmonton, although it fared worse in Calgary, placing a distant third behind the Progressive Conservatives and the NDP respectively.

When presented with those statistics, Jean brushed them off.

“Who cares?” he said. “John Diefenbaker said it best when he commented that polls were for dogs.”
