Rumours are percolating around the country that the Canadian Football League may be on its last legs and will have likely have its final scrimmage at the end of the 2020 season.

Declining attendance in the nine-team league has been cited as the culprit with more competition for the entertainment dollar.

The Edmonton Eskimos has been the only money-maker in the league and have already created contingency plans to ensure part of the league will survive. Should the team fold in 2020, the following season will sea the Eskimos split into two franchises: the Edmonton Shirts and the Edmonton Skins.
